Ethan Hawke and his pregnant fiancée, the former nanny of his children with Uma Thurman, were spotted applying for a marriage license on Tuesday, the New York Post's Page Six gossip column reported.

"They looked really sweet," said the onlooker of Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes, who were seen at the Municipal Building in downtown Manhattan.

Hawke's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, told FOXNews.com, "We have no information or comment."

In January Buxbaum confirmed that Shawhughes was expecting Hawke's baby. Last December a friend of Hawke's reportedly told the New York Daily News: "They are incredibly in love."

The News also reported that Shawhughes contacted Hawke about a year after his split from Thurman to confess her feelings.

"She had nothing to do with the divorce, and they started seeing each other after she was no longer the children's nanny," a source said.

Hawke and Thurman were married in 1998. She filed for divorce in 2004. The couple have two children.

Hawke received an Oscar nomination for his role in 2001's "Training Day." His film credits also include "Dead Poets Society," "Great Expectations" and "Before Sunset."

Thurman, 38, has starred in "The Producers" and the "Kill Bill" movies. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 1994's "Pulp Fiction."
