BELLFLOWER, Calif. – The daughter of an 85-year-old man is in jail for allegedly killing her father and hiding his body in a Bellflower backyard.
The 58-year-old woman was arrested after the body was found Monday afternoon. Los Angeles sheriff's Deputy Derrick Thompson says the woman's father had been missing for months.
The deputy says the woman's name and the victim's name are being withheld.
Deputies went to the residence after a neighbor requested a welfare check. The daughter, who has been booked for investigation of murder, met deputies at the door.
A coroner's autopsy will determine the cause of death. Thompson says the man has been dead for several weeks.
