The board of Nippersink District 2 in McHenry County has fired an elementary school principal accused of taking two teenage girls to a motel near Milwaukee for a weekend that included alcohol, marijuana, sex and pornography.

The board met for about an hour in closed session late Tuesday before voting to dismiss Daniel Markofski, who had been principal of Spring Grove School since the fall.

The 47-year-old Markofski of Richmond was arrested April 5 in Glendale, Wisconsin after a police officer said he smelled marijuana coming from his motel room.

Authorities have accused him of taking a 15- and 16-year-old to the motel after meeting one of the Milwaukee-area girls on a phone chat line.

Markofski is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing Friday in Milwaukee.
