Topics and Guests for October 12

Watch "The Big Story" weekdays at 5 p.m. ET

In a letter to his top deputy in Iraq, Al Qaeda's No. 2 leader said the United States "ran and left their agents" in Vietnam and the jihadists must have a plan ready to fill the void if the Americans suddenly leave Iraq. FOX's Catherine Herridge is live with the details.

Then, one of the FBI's most wanted sex offenders is now in custody thanks to Oprah Winfrey (search) and two of her courageous viewers. The convicted sex predator was nabbed 48 hours after Oprah aired his picture on her show. Ernie Allen, president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, weighs in on Oprah's efforts.

And, conservative James Dobson (search) has let the rest of us in, saying he and Karl Rove (search) discussed Harriet Mier's religious views — prior to the president announcing her nomination. Meanwhile, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., says "no political faction should be given a monopoly of relevant knowledge about a nomination." We'll get reaction to Bush's embattled Supreme Court nomination from Ann Coulter, author of "How to Talk to a Liberal (if You Must)."

Plus, trailers, cruise ships and hotels have all been offered as a temporary solution for hurricane evacuees. But many displaced residents still remain in shelters throughout the country. President Bush's deadline to have them all moved out is just two days away. So what is the next plan to get evacuees into housing? We'll ask U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad Allen, FEMA chief for the hurricane-devastated region.

Real journalism: fair and balanced. That's why we're No. 1 — FOX News Channel.
