A Green Bay Packers fan from more than 100 miles south of Lambeau Field tried to stiff a Green Bay cabbie on a $475.60 fare Sunday but instead ended up getting arrested after his long ride home.
Tyler Meleski, 24, convinced the driver he'd pay the fare at a truck stop ATM in Richfield, Wis., but he slipped out the back door of the business, according to the Washington County Sherriff's Office, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The same fresh snow that fell Sunday at Lambeau Field was his undoing, however, according to the report. Deputies tracked Meleski's footprints from the truck stop and after about an hour found him at a downtown Richfield bar, where he told them he had gotten drunk at the stadium, lost his cell phone and was separated from friends.
His 111-mile journey finally over, Meleski was reportedly booked on a misdemeanor charge of defrauding a taxi cab operator and released.
At least he didn't go through all that trouble to witness a loss. The Packers won their second straight game, 21-13, against the Houston Texans and stayed on the fringe of the playoff race with a 6-6 record.
