FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) New York Jets running back Matt Forte continues to sit out training camp practices with what he calls a ''slight'' hamstring pull.

One of the Jets' main free-agent signings this offseason, Forte says Sunday that he injured the hamstring running on his own before training camp started. He and the Jets are being cautious to avoid Forte reinjuring it by coming back too soon.

Forte doesn't seem too concerned about the injury, saying it's ''minor,'' and adds that he is feeling better every day.

He spent his first eight seasons with Chicago, but had a career-low 898 yards rushing last year in 13 games. The Jets signed Forte to a three-year, $12 million contract, hoping he could provide a pass-catching threat out of the backfield while replacing leading rusher Chris Ivory.
