IRVING, Texas (AP) Two people with knowledge of the agreement say the Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive end Benson Mayowa, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet.

The Oakland Raiders have five days to match the three-year, $8.55 million deal reached Friday. The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the signing wasn't announced.

The Cowboys are trying to improve their pass rush and have missed out on a few unrestricted free agents, including Chris Long. The former St. Louis player signed with New England before a scheduled visit to Dallas.

Mayowa played two games as undrafted rookie free agent with Seattle in 2013. He was cut at the end of training camp a year later and spent two seasons with the Raiders. The 24-year-old has two sacks in 30 games.
