The Seattle Seahawks are trying to get back to the Super Bowl after falling short of it this year. Their first order of business appears to be keeping Pete Carroll in Seattle.

Carroll and the Seahawks are working on a contract extension, according to NFL.com. He has guided Seattle to the playoffs in five of his six seasons as head coach.

Carroll, who is entering the final year of his contract, led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances before falling short of the big game this year, losing to the Carolina Panthers in the divisional round.

Carroll has compiled a 96-60 mark since joining Seattle in 2010 and led the franchise to its first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLVII.
