Report: Steelers' Haley had no interest in head coaching jobs

The way the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense has performed the last two seasons, one would think that Todd Haley would have been at the top of the list for most head coaching vacancies. On the contrary, Haley didn't even get an interview, but apparently it was by design.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported during one of his live chats this week that Haley had no interest in becoming a head coach this year, according to his sources.

Haley has elevated the Steelers' offense into one of the most dangerous units in the league. The Steelers finished third in the NFL this season despite a rash of injuries, not to mention the season-opening suspensions of Le'Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant. The offense was also second-best in 2014.

Before his arrival in Pittsburgh, Haley was the head coach in Kansas City for three seasons, where he compiled a 19-26 record. There were a few attractive options this offseason, mainly the openings with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, but Haley believes his best chance of winning a Super Bowl is in Pittsburgh. According to the early odds for Super Bowl 51, he's right on target.
