LOS ANGELES (AP) Michael Groh has been named the Los Angeles Rams' passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach.

The Rams announced the hiring Monday.

Groh spent the past three seasons as the Chicago Bears' receivers coach. He was the University of Alabama's receivers coach and recruiting coordinator before that, serving on three national championship-winning coaching staffs.

His arrival likely means Rob Boras will remain the Rams' offensive coordinator in Los Angeles, keeping the job he held for the final four games of the regular season in St. Louis.

Groh is the son of former New York Jets coach Al Groh.

Groh will be in charge of a passing game that ranked among the NFL's worst last season. Quarterbacks Case Keenum and Nick Foles are expected to compete for the starting job.
