Tom Brady was named to his 11th Pro Bowl on Tuesday night, which wasn't much of a surprise. He's having an outstanding year and leads the NFL with 4,405 yards and 35 touchdown passes. He's a sure bet to make the Pro Bowl each season and has done it in seven straight years. Additionally, he's been selected to more Pro Bowls than any other player in New England Patriots history.
To commemorate his 11th selection, the NFL shared this photo of him from his first bid in 2001. Yes, that guy on the left is Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.
He's almost unrecognizable if you look at the photo long enough. He was just a young pup at the ripe age of 24.
It was Brady's first season as a starter, and he made the most of it by making the Pro Bowl as a second-year player. He threw for 2,843 yards, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Of course, it was a different game 14 years ago, as quarterbacks weren't throwing for 4,000 yards with ease.
In fact, Brady didn't reach that mark until 2005. Since then, he's thrown for at least 4,000 yards in each season but three.
