Eric Weddle's iron man streak might come to an abrupt end on Sunday. Orlando Ramirez USA TODAY Sports

Eric Weddle could barely walk off Lambeau Field last weekend.

But it's still surprising that the durable Chargers star is less than a certainty to start on Sunday against the Raiders -- even with a noticeable limp from a pulled groin.

"I'm just trying to get my feet under myself," Weddle told ESPN's Eric D. Williams. "It's a long week, and a lot of stuff can happen. So I'm just going to get the guys ready and try to get myself ready."

Weddle has been a stalwart in San Diego's secondary. He's averaged 931 snaps since his rookie season in 2008.

Head coach Mike McCoy hopes his star DB can heal in time for a divisional game, but knows that might but a tough ask.

"If for some reason he can't play, it will be other guys by a committee that will have to pick up for him," McCoy said. "He's as smart as the come on the defensive side of the football -- and that (comes) with experience."
