Losing Amukamara will be a major blow for an already suspect Giants pass defense. William Perlman USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants have allowed the most passing yards per game of any team this season, and things could get a lot worse going forward. According to Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, Prince Amukamara has a partial tear in his pectoral area and he will be out for 2-4 weeks.

Amukamara has been one of the few bright spots for the Giants' pass defense this season. According to Pro Football Focus, only 10 corners have earned a better pass coverage grade than Amukamara this season. He has allowed just 57.1 percent of pass attempts to be completed against him.

In Amukamara's absence, the Giants will be forced to turn to a combination of cornerbacks including Trevin Wade and Jayron Hosley. It could take a while for them to find the right option on the outside, and there's a good chance that a viable starter is not currently on the roster or in free agency.
