Here's a viewer's guide to what you need to know about the referees and their crews who are calling today's games on FOX. The early games are highlighted by two undefeated teams -- the 4-0 Bengals and the 4-0 Falcons -- both playing at home, while the late game pits the Cardinals against the hard-luck 0-4 Lions
SEATTLE (2-2) at CINCINNATI (4-0), 1 pm ET
THE CREW: John Parry is the referee and his crew is averaging 20.5 fouls per game. In two of their four games they have called 25 each. His crew is big on calling offensive holding. His crew is the clear leader with 25 offensive holding calls so far.
SEAHAWKS NOTES: The Seahawks are averaging eight fouls per game. The NFL average is 9.04. Coach Pete Carroll has challenged twice and won once.
BENGALS NOTES: Cincinnati has been called for 10.25 fouls per game. Coach Marvin Lewis has challenged twice and won once.
WASHINGTON (2-2) at ATLANTA (4-0), 1 pm ET
THE CREW: Bill Vinovich is the referee and his crew is averaging 16.7 fouls per game. By the way, Vinovich was the referee last year in Super Bowl LLIX, when New England defeated Seattle.
REDSKINS NOTES: Washington is averaging 10.75 total fouls per game. The league average is 9.04. Coach Jay Gruden has not challenged this season.
FALCONS NOTES: Atlanta is averaging 8.25 per game. Coach Dan Quinn has not challenged this season.
CHICAGO (1-3) at KANSAS CITY (1-3), 1 pm ET
THE CREW: Tony Corrente is the referee and his crew is averaging 18.3 fouls per game. Corrente's crew was involved in the illegal batting call that wasn't made near the end of the Lions-Seahawks game this past Monday night. Corrente's crew leads in illegal hands to the face calls in only three games this season. They called 31 fouls in their first game, which was actually in Week 2.
BEARS NOTES: Chicago leads the NFL in holding calls and is averaging 9.75 total fouls per game. Coach John Fox has challenged three times and won one.
CHIEFS NOTES: Kansas City is averaging 9.00 fouls per game. Coach Andy Reid has challenged once and lost in that attempt.
NEW ORLEANS (1-3) at PHILADELPHIA (1-3), 1 pm ET
THE CREW: Ron Torbert is the referee and his crew have let the flags fly so far this season -- they called 32 in the New England-Buffalo game in Week 2. They have called seven offensive pass interference fouls, which is the most of any crew so far this season.
SAINTS NOTES: New Orleans lead the NFL in defensive holding calls. Coach Sean Payton has not challenged this season.
EAGLES NOTES: Philadelphia is averaging 11 fouls per game. That is the third-highest in the NFL. The Eagles have been called for 12 offensive holding calls, which ties them for second in the NFL. Coach Chip Kelly has not challenged this season.
ARIZONA (3-1) at DETROIT (0-4), 4 pm ET
THE CREW: Gene Steratore is the referee and his crew calls the third-fewest fouls in the league at 15.75 per game. They have called the fewest holding penalties so far this year.
CARDINALS NOTES: Arizona is the least penalized team in the NFL. The Cardinals are averaging just 5.75 fouls per game. The league average is 9.04 fouls per team. Coach Bruce Arians has challenged twice and won one.
LIONS NOTES: The tough-luck Lions are one of the lowest penalized teams in the NFL so far, averaging 6.50 total fouls per game. They have yet to be called for illegal contact or defensive pass interference. They are the third-least penalized team in the NFL. Coach Jim Caldwell has challenged three time and won all three.
