Not much has gone right with the Miami Dolphins thus far as they sit at 1-2. The defense hasn't lived up to high expectations, and the offense hasn't produced against inferior defenses.
They rank 27th in the league in rushing yards per game and Lamar Miller has yet to get on track in a contract year. The Dolphins' next challenge will come against a stout New York Jets defense, so the road isn't getting any easier -- and the coaches know it.
"Not good enough right now," offensive coordinator Bill Lazor said via United Press International. "And I think the biggest area, big picture what we're really not producing well enough in is normal situations -- first and second downs, second and normal. Especially at the beginning of the game when the game is still like what you want the game to be."
Ryan Tannehill hasn't been terrible through three games, but he hasn't played overly great either. He's thrown five touchdown passes to just three interceptions -- with all three coming in his last game. Like the run game, Tannehill can stand to improve, and he'll need to if the Dolphins hope to reach the postseason this year.
