The Chargers could be the only team packing its bags for Los Angeles next year.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the NFL could tab the Chargers -- and only the Chargers -- as L.A.'s next professional franchise.
Such a decision would nix the current Chargers-Raiders stadium partnership in Carson, Calif. It would also surely anger St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who has his own designs a little further north in Inglewood, Calif.
But neither team has an established fanbase in Southern California like the Chargers do. San Diegans need only drive two hours up the I-5 to root on their former hometown team.
Florio claims that's an advantage owners can't overlook -- and it's pushing the Chargers to the front of the line for relocation.
