The Buffalo Bills have already begun trimming their roster down with a handful of moves on Friday. One of the moves that the Bills made was adding cornerback Leodis McKelvin on the non-football injury list.

The move will keep McKelvin out until Week 7 and is eligible to return to the active roster after the team's Week 6 game. The move frees up a roster spot until McKelvin returns as he doesn't count towards the 53-man roster.

McKelvin missed most of training camp with an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 11 of last season. Second-round rookie Ronald Darby has stepped in during McKelvin's absence and will likely continue to do so for the first six weeks of the regular season.

In just 10 games last season, McKelvin intercepted four passes and defended eight others in what was a promising injury before he sustained the ankle injury. His loss is a big blow to the Bills' secondary.
