The New York Giants first team offense has yet to click this preseason. Despite being in the second year of a successful offensive scheme, with added talent at the skill positions, the first team unit is still searching for their first preseason touchdown.

Quarterback Eli Manning believes that matching up with the Jets' first team defense will present an excellent tune up for the regular season. This offseason, the Jets brought in head coach Todd Bowles who runs a complicated defensive scheme that is based on generating a lot of pressure up front front many different spots on the defense. He has had ample success in the past as a defensive coordinator and Manning has taken note of this.

"Yeah, they like to bring pressure, Manning said when asked about the Jets' scheme, per Big Blue Interactive. "They do a good job of mixing up their coverages -- showing pressure and backing out or disguising coverage and bringing some blitzes. So we'll have to be on our game, from my standpoint, from the offensive line, running backs, receivers, everybody understanding what their responsibilities are. It's a good scheme that their coaches brought in from Arizona, and they have good players, good corners, and so it'll be a good test for us. Looking forward to it."

The Giants have experienced more injuries up front, and the revamped offensive line will be put to the test against the Jets' pressure-packed scheme. Center Weston Richburg is nursing a left knee injury and right tackle Marshall Newhouse went down during Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. The Giants would be wise to use the running back in pass protection and a tight end to chip throughout Saturday night's game.
