Raiders reunite J'Marcus Webb with his favorite coach

J'Marcus Webb is "like a son" to Raiders assistant coach Mike Tice.

So the Silver and Black staged a family reunion and brought coach and player together again in Oakland.

"J'Marcus is special to me," Tice told ESPN's Bill Williamson. "He's a good kid and a good player. I'm happy we have him."

No one is happier than Webb himself. The 27-year old was cut by the Chiefs last season and out of work for all of 2014.

He's back in Tice's meeting rooms now. The two forged a bond when Tice, then an assistant in Chicago, worked out the sleeper prospect from West Texas A&M.

They've been close ever since the Bears drafted Webb, but it wasn't always a calm relationship. Tice famously told the tackle to "buck up" after a lackluster preseason showing. Webb was challenged by Tice again the following season.

By now, Webb knows how Tice operates -- and he plans on delivering for his longtime supporter.

"He's been a great guy to work with," Webb said. "He let me play and he likes to win. He taught me how to win and how to communicate and how to get my job done on a consistent basis."
