Tennessee Titans second-year running back Antonio Andrews is used to the slow climb to the top. This year's training camp is no different.

Andrews, who worked his way up from the practice squad last season after signing as an undrafted free agent, is fighting to secure a roster spot in training camp behind starter Bishop Sankey and rookie fifth-round pick David Cobb.

"I am just trying to keep stacking bricks and keep trying to build a foundation,'' Andrews said, via the team's official website. "I want to show coaches I am trustworthy, and that all the hard work I put in this offseason is paying off and will pay off this season. I just have to keep working."

The 22-year-old Andrews played in just four games last season after being signed to the active roster Oct. 21. He didn't get an opportunity to carry the ball in 2014, but did catch two passes for 11 yards.

Tennessee head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Andrews, who is sharing reps with Sankey, Cobb, Dexter McCluster and David Fluellen, has impressed so far.

"We felt good about Antonio last year with his body of work for last year's offseason and camp," Whisenhunt said. "Now he's had a full offseason working with these guys and he's getting a lot of reps. He's doing a nice job."

Andrews, who ran for 3,674 yards and 29 touchdowns during his college career at Western Kentucky, is confident he belongs in the NFL.

"I have been an underdog my whole life, from high school to college, to being an undrafted free agent,'' Andrews said. "I learned to live without my whole life so whenever I make it to the top it is that much better.

"I'm just trying to get some work in and make plays. It won't be a surprise to me (to make the team), because I've worked so hard for it."
