The Tennessee Titans have decided to place nose tackle Sammie Hill on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as the team prepares to open training camp.

Hill, a seven-year veteran, injured his knee over the offseason.

"Physically his knee is doing really well, but football-shape wise, I'm a little concerned about that," Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said, via the Tennessean. "I think we'll use that time that he's out -- I don't think it will be that long -- to work on the side and get ready."

The 28-year-old Hill can be activated at any point during camp. The Titans begin practicing on Friday.

Last season, Hill registered 33 tackles and three sacks for Tennessee.
