Osi Umenyiora could be coming home.

The 33-year-old pass rusher is in discussions with the New York Giants to sign a one-day contract so that he can retire with the team that drafted him, sources confirmed to FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

ESPN first reported the story.

Umenyiora spent nine seasons with the Giants before moving on with the Atlanta Falcons. During Umenyiora's career, he played a major role in redefining the Giants' NASCAR pass rush.

Recording 75 sacks during 2003-2012, Umenyiora would finish as the fourth best pass rusher in team history.

Umenyiora spent the last two seasons in Atlanta where he racked up 7.5 sacks in 2013.
