Thiago Motta and Philippe Coutinho scored in a minute span of the second half, and Inter Milan won for just the second time 1 over Cagliari on Saturday at the San Siro.

Motta opened the scoring 9 minutes after halftime and Coutinho followed in the 60th, as Inter won for just the third time in 10 league games this season. The club still sits just three points above the relegation zone.

Cagliari lost its third straight during a six-game winless skid, and fell out of the top half of the table to 11th place.

Giampaolo Pazzini set up the opening goal and Motta converted with a shot from close range to the upper left. Coutinho added a second goal off a fast break, as he finished a pass from Ricardo Alvarez to the lower left.

Joaquin Larrivey pulled a goal back for Cagliari with 2 minutes left in normal time, but Inter held on for the victory.

Napoli 0, Lazio 0

Naples, Italy - Lazio remained unbeaten on the road as it earned a 0-0 draw at the Stadio San Paolo on Saturday against Napoli to move to the top of Serie A ahead of Sunday's fixtures.

Lazio is unbeaten in nine straight league matches, with six wins in that span, to accumulate 22 points from 11 fixtures. Lazio has four wins and two draws in six road matches.

Napoli dropped points at home for the third time in just five games, as it has two draws and a loss. Napoli has just one win in its last four league matches.

Lazio holds a one-point lead on AC Milan, which tied Fiorentina 0-0 Saturday, and Udinese, which visits Parma on Sunday.

Florence, Italy - AC Milan's five-match Serie A win streak ended Saturday, as it settled for a 0-0 draw against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Milan moved up one place in the table, overtaking Udinese on goal difference, and sits second behind new leader Lazio. Lazio used a 0-0 draw over Napoli to claim the top spot.

Udinese entered the weekend atop the table, and can reclaim the top spot with a win at Parma on Sunday.

Fiorentina has just one win in its last nine league matches since opening with two straight wins, and has slipped nine points off the pace.
