Chargers put LB English on IR

San Diego, CA – The San Diego Chargers placed linebacker Larry English on injured reserve Wednesday.

The 2009 first-round pick suffered a left foot injury Sunday against the New York Jets. He recorded seven tackles and two sacks in five games this season.

English was limited to eight games last season because of the foot and underwent a pair of surgeries.

The Northern Illinois product has compiled seven sacks in 29 career games with San Diego.

The Chargers also signed rookie offensive tackle Stephen Schilling off their practice squad and re-signed running back Jordan Todman to the practice squad.
