David Cooper hit a two-run homer and Edwin Encarnacion also connected Wednesday, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-3.

Cooper's homer capped a three-run fourth inning against Pirates left-hander Paul Maholm. Maholm worked five innings and allowed four runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out three.

Kyle Drabek pitched five innings for the Blue Jays and gave up two runs and seven hits. The right-hander walked one and struck out two. Drabek is the son of former Pirates Cy Young winner Doug Drabek.

For the Pirates, Neil Walker hit a solo homer in the first inning. Garrett Jones had a two-out, RBI single in the fourth.
