MOGWASE, South Africa (AP) — Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has injured an ankle in training for the World Cup quarterfinal match against Uruguay.

Gyan left training Monday evening with ice wrapped around the injured ankle before heading back to the team's South Africa base at Sun City.

Ghana's Football Association does not expect Gyan to miss Friday's match at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

Gyan has three goals at the World Cup, including one that clinched a 2-1 victory over the United States on Saturday.
