Hey waiter! Jets serve food to fans for charity

EAST HANOVER, N.J. (AP) — LaDainian Tomlinson and several of his New York Jets teammates traded their jerseys for aprons for a night.

In support of teammate David Clowney's upcoming trip to Ghana, the Jets took over an Applebee's restaurant Tuesday night and waited on wide-eyed fans. They took dinner orders and served up hot plates of burgers, fries and chicken fingers.

Fans paid $65 for reservations, with $50 of each paid ticket going to The David Clowney Foundation. The wide receiver is raising funds in advance of his trip in July to help underprivileged children.

Over $10,000 was raised at the event where Clowney, Tomlinson, Bart Scott, Kellen Clemens, first-round pick Kyle Wilson and several others waited tables.
