The White House was taking heat Thursday for a tweet that used a meme of a poster for a new Hollywood movie in order to push the controversial Iran deal.

The image is a parody of a movie poster for “Straight Outta Compton” -- a new film about ’80s hip-hop group N.W.A.

Responding to a Buzzfeed article that showed how people are adapting the movie poster for other purposes, the @TheIranDeal Twitter account – the official White House account for the deal – posted its own version:

The image quickly drew fire from a number of people across the Twitter-verse.

Some followed the White House example as an opportunity to make their own point about the deal.

Buzzfeed apparently wasn't impressed either -- following up with an article titled "The White House just completely ruined the 'Straight Outta Compton' meme."
