CPAC protester says he was paid $60 to show up

Published December 22, 2015

Protesters outside a major conservative conference in Washington might be pocketing some part-time pay out of it.

One demonstrator at the Conservative Political Action Conference told the Daily Caller that a local sheet metal workers union approached him about the gig, offering $60.

"They just told me 'you wanna make 60 bucks?' So come on," the protester said, adding that other demonstrators outside were "out of work" and getting paid for their participation, too.

The protester said he didn't know exactly who was paying or what CPAC was about.

Occupy DC protesters were also participating in the "Occupy CPAC" events this week.
