President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao are holding talks expected to focus on U.S. frustrations with China's slow progress in pushing North Korea to comply with international obligations.

In brief remarks ahead of the meeting, Obama says he is looking forward to a frank and constructive meeting. Obama says he and Hu will also discuss Iran and Sudan.

Obama has said he planned to press Hu to use China's influence to push North Korea to halt its nuclear and missile tests. Obama says China's approach over the past decades has failed to alter North Korea's behavior.

China is North Korea's main ally, but it says its political influence over Pyongyang is limited.

Obama and Hu are meeting on sidelines of an international nuclear security summit.
