7-Eleven 'Coffee Cup Election' is back!

It's back! The popular 24-hour convenience store is once again asking customers to select their favorite candidate by choosing either a red cup for Mitt Romney or a blue cup for President Obama! The store is branding it as the "7-Election 2012," and while it isn't a scientific poll, it has proven to be eerily accurate in years past! In the 2004 race (Bush vs. Kerry) Bush came out on top with 51% of the 7-Election "votes" and in the actual election...Bush received 50.7% of Americans' votes! And..in the last election (Obama vs. McCain) Obama won the 7-Election vote by 52%!

So we want to know-- what do you think? Will you be stopping by your neighborhood 7-Eleven?

Chicago Teachers on Strike-- what do you think?

The Chicago Teachers Union is on strike for the first time in 25 years after contract talks over pay, benefits and job security failed with the Chicago school district. Thousands of teachers walked off the job Monday in the third-largest school district in the nation and city officials expressed concern for the 400,000+ students that could be left unsupervised to wander the streets of Chicago.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he would work to end the strike quickly and called it "unnecessary..avoidable and wrong." Mitt Romney, in a statement released Monday, said he was disappointed by the Chicago teachers' decision and that he sides with parents and students over unionized teachers.

Mayor Emanuel said the district offered the teachers a 16% pay raise over 4 years..doubling an earlier offer, but Karen Lewis, President of the Chicago Teachers Union, said that among other issues, a big concern was a new evaluation she said would be unfair to teachers because it relied too heavily on standardized test scores and could result in 6,000 teachers losing their jobs over 2 years. City officials disagree with that conclusion.

So we want to know-- what do you think?  Was this avoidable and is it hurting the students? Or do you side with the teachers union? Share your thoughts with us here or on Twitter @BretBaier!
