Wounded warriors take to cycling to overcome physical, mental or emotional wound. Soldier Ride is a four-day cycling trip aimed to help warriors gain confidence in their journey through rehabilitation.
The rides take place through the Wounded Warrior Project, which aims to help and rehabilitate wounded service members through unique projects and services. WWP raises awareness for the needs of injured service members.
The rides are open to soldiers of all ability levels, and each soldier is provided with state-of-the-art adaptive hand cycles, trikes, and bicycles to accommodate their various injuries and disabilities.
Meanwhile, road bikes are available free of charge for riders not requiring adaptive equipment are.
Each ride is a 4-day commitment, offering a bike fitting and test run, meet and greets with other soldiers and a 25-mile or 50-mile course.
Military men and women can express their interest in the program and sign up for the events through an application process by visiting the program's login page.
