Daniels Tamps Down VP Speculation

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (R) joined “Fox News Sunday” to discuss 2012 politics, including calls for him to be chosen as Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential nominee.

On whether he would accept the invitation, should Romney ask, Daniels said, “I think I would demand reconsideration, and send Mr. Romney a list of people I think could suit better."

When pressed on who would be a solid choice, Daniels would not specify, but only say that they’re a number of Governors and legislators who’d fit the bill.

Governor Daniels also weighed in on the coming general election matchup between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

On which candidate would be able to win his state of Indiana, Daniels put the president’s chances at, “Slim and none. I want to give credit to a very savvy strategy in 2008… But it will take a massive change, I believe, in the view of Hoosiers for him to repeat that this year.”
