For many couples, the best way to celebrate Valentines Day is at a resort somewhere in paradise in Latin America where Champagne, a romantic dinner, and a couple of chaise lounges on the beach are not too far away.

While it doesn’t take much effort to spend a lot of money on such a getaway, the truth is that there are ample opportunities for budget-minded romantics who want to celebrate Valentines Day in style without spending a ton of money.

For one, February is not peak travel season in many destinations, so there’s a good chance that prices will tend to be lower for everything from food and lodging to outdoor activities and spa offerings. Another benefit is that you’ll be hard-pressed to find many crowds in your vacation spot of choice, which will only make your romantic vacation feel even more intimate and special.

The good news is that no matter where you choose to go, resorts and hotels are offering couples the chance to truly customize their getaways.

For instance, while many people appreciate more traditional romantic touches like a path of rose petals leading to the bed and couples massage sessions, for those who enjoy more unorthodox trips that incorporate kayaking or perhaps a stay at a more rustic resort there are plenty of choices, and these trips can be just as romantic.

So check out our list or wander around a little online and find your own. And if you can’t get away for February 14th, then just keep in mind that it’s never too late – or too early – to celebrate with the one you love.
