It's not uncommon to suffer from poor posture — especially if you sit at a desk all day!

Sure you could get a massage or put your spine in the hands of a chiropractor, but certain yoga poses are great for instant relief on the fly.

We met up with Kristin McGee, Celebrity Yoga and Pilates instructor, at CLAY Health Club in New York City, where she showed us three simple poses for relieving back discomfort.

She demonstrates the staff pose, side-bend and boat pose. "These moves will strengthen your core and lower back," says Kristin. "They will also open your shoulders, help you to breathe deeper, and relieve any tension in the hips and thighs that can pull on the lower back."
