Last December Us magazine broke the story that Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott had cheated on her with a 28-year-old woman named Emily Goodhand on a business trip in Toronto. The pair who have four children together, Liam, 7, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2 and Finn, 20 months have since weathered an avalanche of press and sordid stories.
And now Tori Spelling has opened up in the latest issue of Us magazine about the precarious state of her marriage and why she decided to film her new Lifetime reality series, “True Tori,” which follows her and husband Dean McDermott’s couples therapy sessions. It is an unflinching and blisteringly honest peek into their fractured relationship and many friends questioned the wisdom in doing it.
Spelling admits it was not an easy decision but chose to do it so she could reclaim her voice, tell her side of the story and how she was feeling. She approached Lifetime with the idea and sums up the new show in one word – “raw.”
The 40-year-old actress admits that the two have not had sex since the scandal broke and that since being released from rehab, McDermott sometimes stays at the family home, at the discretion of Spelling.
The series does not necessarily have a happy ending.
“We’re parenting and figuring out if there is any relationship to be saved,” Spelling admits. “I have no idea. Whichever way my marriage goes, though, I finally have my voice back and can be honest. We’ll see what happens.”
