Tom Cruise has spent the last few months on-set in Miami bringing to life womanizing rocker Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman’s big-screen adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.”

And although the A-list actor is better known for being a “Top Gun” naval pilot, a “Mission: impossible” secret agent and jumping on Oprah Winfrey couches, his co-star Mary J. Blige assured us he is also every bit the believable rock star.

“Oh man, Tom is going to make you believe that he’s a total rock star. I believed it,” the Grammy-winning singer told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at Variety’s Power of Women event in Beverly Hills on Friday. “I don’t know what he did to get into it, but when he showed up he’s body was moving like every rock n’ roll star I have ever seen and he had this weird speech and weird tone coming out of his voice, he was just so in-character. And from the very first table reading he showed up dressed as Stacee Jaxx.”

The Grammy-winning artist, who has teamed with everyone from Slash to Kid Rock to Alicia Keys in the past, even went so far as to say a Cruise collaboration wouldn’t be out of the question.

“Why not? Mary J and Stacee Jaxx,” she mused.

But apparently Cruise isn’t the only one who will wow us when the film comes out next year. Blige also said Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand and the rest of the big-name lineup will all leave good impressions.

“The movie is incredible, Adam Shankman will be one of the best directors I will ever work with… he is just real and he knows what he wants,” she added. “He’s not confused and indecisive, and it’s such a dream cast. I don’t know if I will ever work with a cast like that again – just beautiful and down-to-earth.”
