Marc Anthony openly embraced his “statue of peace” as he calls his girlfriend, Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima, as Emilio Estefan and Billboard exec Leila Cobo, presented him with the “Hall of Fame” award at the 2012 Billboard’s Latin music awards Thursday night.

As if on cue, the Salsa singer kissed his new squeeze as the cameras closed in, capturing the intimate gesture.

But it was what the “I Need to Know” star did next that left a few shocked as he rubbed off the kiss with his hands from his face.

Guess he got a sloppy one.

Looking humbled and happy, Marc Anthony then took the stage and gave his remarks.

“This is a very special award for me,” Marc Anthony said in Spanish. “I began as a child with a dream in New York city. You only need a dream,” he said emotionally.

“You can’t achieve all of this by yourself,” he continued. “I have an incredible team. A musical family,” the Puerto Rico singer said, adding that he is aware of the many sacrifices his children and family have done for the sake of his career.

Just last week rumors were swirling that the baby stork paid Mark Anthony and his much younger girlfriend, a visit.

Latina magazine reported that de Lima raised eyebrows over after several of her tweets hinted she was expecting a baby.

“There once was a butterfly that was so in love she felt people in her stomach,” de Lima posted on Twitter. “Happy and in love…with life!!!”

After the speculation intensified, de Lima seemed to have deleted the comment on her Twitter account.

Nevertheless, she left other emotional tweets for the world to see.

“True love is not physical or emotional,” De Lima tweeted. “True love is accepting that everything that has been, will be and will continue to be in the world.”

De Lima, 24, and the salsa crooner professed their love on Twitter earlier this year, shortly after Marc’s ex-wife, superstar Jennifer Lopez, revealed she was dating Casper Smart.

Marc Anthony then did not hesitate to reveal his new love.

“To my @shadelima my statue of peace. Kisses baby,” tweeted the Grammy-award-winning crooner back in January.

He then retweeted what appears to be a fan who posted a photo of him and De Lima kissing and hugging.
