Shannen Doherty detailed the trials of her battle with cancer in an emotional interview with Chelsea Handler.

“I think what’s beautiful and hard and interesting about cancer is that it tears you down and builds you, and tears you down and builds you. It remakes you so many different times,” Doherty told her friend during a new episode of “Chelsea.”

Handler breaks down while the two are talking and Doherty tells her not to cry.

The host tries to regain her composure replying, “I mean all right, hold on a second, f--k.”

The “Beverly Hills 90210” actress explains to Handler the way cancer has changed her.

“The person I thought I was supposed to be or was going to be or who I thought I was six months ago is now somebody completely different,” she says. “And I realize, ‘Wow, I really thought that I was so brave and so gracious this entire time and really I was just hiding.’”

Doherty revealed she was battling breast cancer in 2015 and said in 2016 that it had spread to her lymph nodes. She has chronicled her illness in photos posted on social media.
