Havana – Legendary British rocker Ozzy Osbourne – frontman for heavy metal band Black Sabbath – is the most recent A-list celebrity to travel to Cuba since the thawing of relations with the United States.
The Black Sabbath frontman traveled to Havana on Sunday with his son Jack Osbourne to the Caribbean island, reportedly to shoot a film produced by the History Channel.
According to Cuba's official newspaper Granma online, the Osbourne men are in Havana for an almost week-long private stay, but did not offer any details on the project.
The 67-year-old vocalist and composer, with a musical career spanning more than four decades, arrived in Cuba ahead of Black Sabbath's 2016 world tour, The End. Jack Osbourne has been documenting the trip with several posts on Instagram.
Since his arrival in Havana the rock star has visited centers of historical interest and plans to tour cultural facilities in the next few days.
Osbourne, who has won two Grammys – in 1994 for I Don't Want to Change the World and in 2000 with Iron man – has also had a successful solo career with several gold and platinum records that includes the Diary of a Madman.
Often called the Madman, Godfather of Metal or The Prince of Darkness, the musician born in Birmingham, is the 8th best metal vocalist according to magazine Hit Parader and 2nd best according to Time Rock magazine.
Osbourne joins a list of international artists who have traveled to Havana in 2015 after the diplomatic thaw between Cuba and the United States.
In 2015, social networks and Cuban media have reported visits of artists including The Rolling Stones lead singer, Mick Jagger, the rockers of The Dead Daisies, and singers Rihanna, Katy Perry and Usher.
