Updated

We saw the trailer for the trailer on Monday but now, at last, is the actual trailer… ah, for the movie that doesn’t come out until March. Still with us? Good. We’re talking, if course, about the new full length trailer for "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice," which premiered just now on Jimmy Kimmel Live after an appearance by Batfleck himself (Ben Affleck).

First up, as predicted Doomsday – AKA the Kryptonian Frankenstein who killed the man of steel in the 1990s Death of Superman arc – is confirmed. And weirdly, I don’t hate how he looks.

Picking up where 2013’s "Man of Steel" left off, "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" sees Bruce Wayne—until now operating secretly as Batman and considered an urban legend—among those who thinks Superman plans to put himself in control of earth. As he sets about finding a way to take Superman down, events are being manipulated behind the scenes by upstart techbro billionaire Lex Luthor as other superpowered people emerge from the shadows. Henry Cavill stars as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Batman’s butler/armorer Alfred, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White, Diane Lane as Superman’s mom Martha Kent and Holly Hunter as U.S. Senator Finch.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" is the official start of Warner Bros’ DC Extended Universe of films featuring the A-List of DC superheroes starring in their own adventures and occasionally crossing over, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fittingly, it will see Gal Gadot’s introduction as Wonder Woman in a supporting role, with other DC heroes showing up for cameos, including Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg, along with Tao Okamoto as Lex Luthor’s bodyguard Mercy Graves. It hits theaters March 25.
