Lea Michele, 28, stole the show as the lead actress on the hit Fox show “Glee,” and now she is set to take over primetime again this fall with the new Fox series, “Scream Queens.” Also starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts, the show combines comedy and horror providing a “bitingly satirical look” into the college Greek life system.

“I couldn’t be happier in my life right now,” the actress told FOX411 at the Television Critics Association session for the show in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

In 2013, Michele’s then-boyfriend and co-star, Cory Monteith, was found dead from an alcohol and drug overdose in a Vancouver hotel room. The two had been dating for two years and the death rocked Michele to her core.

The actress said she was in a daze at that time, but now in 2015, Michele couldn’t be stronger.

“I think I’ve done a really good job where I try to keep my life as private as possible,” she said. “I definitely feel, personally, in my life right now so happy and so strong. I think it’s important to have your home life be as grounded so that you can just go to your job and do your absolute best.”

She has been vocal about Monteith, however, most recently taking to Twitter to pay tribute to him on the two year anniversary of his death.

When Monteith passed, Michele credited her “Glee” family as serving as a wonderful support system and it seems as if she has found another support group in her new cast mates.

“Jamie Lee is the greatest matriarch of our family. She is really the hub of this family, but not only as an actress but as a person,” Michele gushed. “She gives us gifts; she spoils us; she takes care of us—but really it’s wonderful because it creates a positive warm vibe on the set.”

After starring in “Glee” for six years, Michele faced a challenge, as she had to switch from a comedy-drama series to comedy-horror series.

“It’s a completely different world in horror, it’s a lot more difficult,” she explained. “This is challenging working with a balance of comedy and horror.”

Michele said working with Roberts has also challenged her acting skills.

“She challenges me as an actress, because to have someone every day, [who] comes prepared and knows their lines and gives it to you on every take, you have to be on your absolute best.”

“Scream Queens” premieres on Fox on Sept. 22.
