Police say country singer Daron Norwood has been found dead in his Texas apartment.

Hereford police spokesman Capt. Kirsten Williams said Thursday that investigators do not suspect foul play in Norwood's death. He was 49.

Williams says a cause of death was pending. Norwood's landlord found his body Wednesday afternoon.

Norwood was last seen Tuesday night with friends. The landlord stopped to check on Norwood, let himself in and found the singer's body in a bedroom. Williams says the body had no signs of trauma.

The singer had a 1994 self-titled album, "Daron Norwood." His 1995 album was, "Ready, Willing and Able." Norwood's songs included "If It Wasn't For Her I Wouldn't Have You," and "Cowboys Don't Cry."

Hereford is 40 miles southwest of Amarillo.
