In a press release issued on Wednesday, One Direction singer Zayn Malik officially confirmed his departure from the band. The rest of the group is said to be continuing on "as a four-piece" for the foreseeable future, or at least until Sammy Hagar decides that, hey, he'd like to try his hand at "Night Changes."

"Furious 7" actor Vin Diesel told Variety that come awards season, his movie will "probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don’t want to be relevant ever.” So we'll just have to wait until next February to see if Diesel's blatant attempt at reverse psychology will work on Academy voters.

On Wednesday, Kim Kardashian shared a cleavage-filled selfie on Instagram (below), perhaps just prove she's still abiding by the supernatural pact she made with a cleavage genie in exchange for fame.

"Glee" actress Lea Michele revealed on Twitter that she and former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton will be starring together in a road-trip/buddy/sex comedy called "The Layover." However, it's not yet known whether the film will interrupted every five minutes for an unskippable "Game of War: Fire Age" commercial.

And finally, Sony Pictures announced on Wednesday their plans to release a fully-animated "Smurfs" movie in March 2017, probably figuring that a few more years is enough time for everybody to forget about the two live-action/computer-animated Smurf movies they released just a few years back.
