"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" matriarch June Shannon, aka "Mama June," denied reports that she is currently dating a convicted child sex offender.
"I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors," Shannon wrote on her daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's Facebook page. "Remember you can't believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false!"
Shannon wrote that her children are her number one priority and that she would "never put them in danger, period."
TMZ reported Thursday that Shannon had rekindled her romance with Mark McDaniel, who reportedly went to jail for molesting a child in Shannon's family when they were dating years earlier.
McDaniel, who is in his early 50s, was convicted on May 20, 2004 of aggravated child molestation. He registered as a sex offender in March 2014.
Mama June said she she "left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn't go back."
Mama June's 14-year-old daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, told Radar Online that the "story is not true."
"My mom left Mark 10 years ago," Lauryn said. "They haven't seen nor talked [to each other] in 10 years."
As for the alleged photo of Mama June and McDaniel together shared by TMZ, Lauryn says, "It's photoshopped."
Following the report, TLC told FOX411 the alleged relationship has left the future the series in limbo. The show follows Shannon's 9-year-old daughter Honey Boo Boo, a beauty pageant winner.
Back in September, Shannon split from Honey Boo Boo’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson. The two were never technically married, but they exchanged vows back in may in front of Boo Boo and her three sisters.
When they split, they released a statement explaining they were unsure about the future of their relationship.
"Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship," the TV stars said in a statement. "We are taking things day by day, but regardless of what happens, the girls will always be our number one priority. We want to thank y'all for your support."
