Jase Robertson says that his wedding night was hardly romantic. In fact the “Duck Dynasty” star says that it wasn’t even that “pleasant!” Both Jase and his wife Missy were virgins when they married which accounts for the awkwardness.

“We really didn’t know what we were doing,” he laughingly admitted to Rob Shuter of VH1’s “The Gossip Table.”  But he adds, “It was shame free, it was guilt free, it was disease free. There were a lot of positives and we laughed because we just laughed at ourselves.”

Robertson said that big brother Alan had tried to impart  a few pointers the night before which they spent frog hunting but he brushed the advice off. “I was like, ‘I got the basic concept. But I’m kind of excited to explore this together.’” In fact the 44- year- old reality star compares the experience to a board game.

“My wife hates how I describe it,” he continued, “but I felt like I was playing that game ‘Operation,’ that game you play as a kid, like at any  moment, beep!”

Despite the rocky beginning Robertson stresses the couple have never had any problems when it comes to intimacy during their 23 year marriage.

“It’s something we view as good, clean, God sanctioned fun for us to enjoy together,” he explained. “But we also keep it in the proper perspective. It’s just a part of our marriage, but it’s not the part that makes it work great. It’s just kind of the gravy and the benefits.”

His memoir entitled “Good Call: Reflections on Faith, Family and Fowl” is on sale now.
