Don’t expect to see James Franco in “Spring Breakers 2.”

The 36-year-old actor took to Instagram on Wednesday to rant against the proposed sequel predicting that, “it will be a horrible film,” and it’s, “not being done with Harmony Korine (the director) or my consent.”

The 2013 film tells the story of four young women played by Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine whose spring break trip takes on a menacing hue when they become involved with cocaine, robbery and arrests. Franco plays a rapper/drug dealer. The film received rave reviews and fans flocked to see it.

Franco claimed that now producers are, “capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel,” and proclaimed, “whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship.”

Us Weekly reports that producer Vincet Maraval told subscription site Screen Daily that, “it’s not a direct sequel, although there are allusions to some of the characters in the original,” which has been called, “Spring Breakers: The Second Coming.”
