Jason Aldean is officially dating “American Idol” star Brittany Kerr, the woman he was controversially photographed kissing in September 2012.
Reps for the country star confirmed to Taste of Country that he and Kerr are an item after photos began surfacing of the blonde backstage at his shows.
Back in April 2013, Aldean filed for divorce from his wife Jessica Ussery. Aldean cited "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce documents at the time.
When the photos of a then-married Aldean kissing Kerr surfaced, he apologized to his fans on his official Facebook page. He implied that the incident with Kerr was simply the result of too much drinking.
"The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar,” Aldean wrote in October 2012. "I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys.”
Aldean and his wife met while in school in Macon, Ga., and were married long before Aldean found fame. They have two young daughters together.
