It’s only natural for Juan Pablo Galavis to get close to the women vying for his heart, but on Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelor” he went “too far” with one contestant which he later regretted it. This led to an emotional confrontation at a cocktail party.

The drama did not star off the bat. The Venezuela hunk first took Renee on the first one-on-one date of the night in which they explored local markets and bonded over their children. (Renee is also a single parent.)

Galavis said she seemed like a “good mom,” which made him more attracted to her, eventually giving her a rose at the end of the night.

“The Bachelor” followed the date with the group date, where, naturally, the drama began.

Galavis and the girls partnered up to ride in canoes together, and he went with Clare. The two got cozy, angering the other woman who said they felt like they were spectators on a one-on-one date instead of in group.

The tension was caked on during the cocktail reception, where Galavis continued bonding with Clare and took her away for private time first. The duo was seen swimming and making out in his private suit while the other ladies mingled by themselves. Oh, and Claire received the group date rose.ca

And it didn’t stop there. Clare snuck back to his suite around 4 a.m. that night for a swim in the ocean.

“We just went for it, and I don’t regret it. Pure bliss in every way,” she said of their late-night rendezvous. If there was any doubt of what they did while frolicking in the ocean, Clare’s toast at the cocktail party settled it. “Cheers to finding love, being loved and making love.”

This bliss, though, was cut short very quickly. In a confessional video, Galavis said he regretted it.

“Maybe I made a mistake the other night … taking it too far with Clare,” he said.

Galavis pulled Clare aside and told her that what they did was not right or fair to the other contestants or his daughter, Camila. Claire was understandably devastated, but pointed out that he was totally “on board” with what happened.

During the episode airing Monday night, Galavis tweeted, “I ADMIT it, in tonight’s EPISODE I made a MISTAKE…”

Eventually, Galavis sent home Danielle, Kelly and Alli.
