One Direction member Liam Payne ruffled some feathers on Saturday when he tweeted a supportive message to “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson. In it he proclaimed his support of the beleaguered family who have been in hot water recently for patriarch Phil's comments about homosexuality in GQ magazine.

“Huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan,” he wrote to Willie.

But when news outlets accused him of sharing Phil's controversial stance on homosexuality the boy band singer quickly took to social media to explain his position, according to English newspaper The Mirror.

“Being a fan of someones show and the way they still hold a family together doesnt mean i am ok with all they say.”

Obviously annoyed at the way his comments were being interpreted the boy band singer went off on a lengthy rant.

"Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without [being] labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story.

"What I gotta do to please you b******s I'm a 20 year old just living life as you did when u where twenty but in extraordinary circumstances.

"I can't do anything without being judged u try that and write about it."

Payne continued: "Sick of all this bull il be back again when the freedom of speech law is back and people don't believe to much into the bulls*** they read."

And then acknowledging that he will probably be censured by the group’s management he wrote, “"Can't wait for the call tomorrow where I get told [off] for cussing had to be said like I said before much worse has happened In the world.”

In response to the backlash Payne received,Willie Robertson piped up and tweeted back at the singer.

"Thanks bro. Congrats to u boys as well. Y'all keep rockin, we'll keep quackin. Stay strong in this nutty world," the "Duck Dynasty" star wrote.
